We offer a hard packed sandy beach to enjoy our secluded spring fed lake with an average summer temp around 24C.  Jump off our main dock or dive off the floating platform for hours of summer fun. 


Enjoy a short nature hike on the property or drive minutes away to the Eau Claire Gorge conservation area or multi-use trails where you will uncover some breathtaking scenery and points of interest!


We are centrally located between a 9 hole course as well as an 18 hole range.  Take full advantage of Northern Ontario's versatile terrain and enjoy the beautiful landscapes that can only be found in this amazing region.


We offer canoe, kayak and paddleboat rentals or bring your own! No gas motors on our lake, but a boat launch is minutes away where you can travel over 200km along the Mattawa & Ottawa Rivers.


Over 300km of trails in the area perfect for your ATV,  SxS or 4x4! Brave the infamous 666 trail or enjoy the more leisurely routes. It would take more than two weeks to experience VMUTS in it’s entirety.


The region is home to many local artisans that create one of a kind treasures.  From jewellery to hand-made soap, world-renowned artists and award winning furniture you are sure to find something uniquely beautiful.


The park sits on the little 4 square km, spring fed Taggart Lake, filled with large mouth bass.  Explore the region where there are plenty of lakes and rivers to catch every other Northern Ontario species!


Travel the Veloroute Voyageur Cycling route or mountain bike through some seriously versatile terrain on the VMUTS trails, either choice you're sure to have a great adventure!



Feel like a homestyle meal? Bacon and eggs, burgers, pizza, pasta, steak or mind-blowing poutine?  Savour locally sourced fish or decadent dessert served by candlelight!  You can find a little of everything in the area.

Night Sky Viewing

Under low moonlight you can enjoy the milky way, view the constallations or just marvel in the millions of little stars that light up the night sky. There is zero light polution in our beautiful Northern campground.

Sight Seeing

The local town sits nestled between the Laurentian Mountains and offers some breathtaking vistas to enjoy. You can find an abundance of wildlife on site or anywhere in the region!


Museum & Historical Statues

The area's hand carved statues summerize the North American explorers' historical exploits and connection to the region leading you on a journey that leads to the historic Mattawa Museum.
